PUT YOUR RECORDS ON
As a child, music surrounded me. I learned to sing and play instruments like the piano, violin, and classical bass. Songs would fill my home, starting from the early hours of the morning to late at night. Whether we know it or not, music can be a huge influence in our lives. “Put Your Records On” shows the role it plays in mine. It initially started as a dedication to my grandmother, Coreather, who would always start the day with disco/funk music to fill our home with laughter and love. I then noticed a connection between a specific decade/genre and a person in my life. The genre, decade, and person inspire each set and hold a significant memory. This series is not just a dedication to my loved ones but to my forever love of music.

Just beneath the surface
When we get hurt physically, we immediately patch up the wound to protect it. We keep it covered until we believe it has healed. What happens to that wound on the inside once it has gone through this traumatic event?
